Two Iran sculptors showcasing sculpture works in Baku

Selected Iran sculptors are currently showcasing sculpture works at 2017 International Symposium on Sculpture in Azerbaijan Republic.

Selected works from two Iran sculptors are exhibited at 2017 International Symposium on Sculpture in capital city of Azerbaijan Republic, Baku.

According to a Friday local media report, two Iranian artists Morteza Shabani and Ali Cheraqi are showing talents and skills in sculpturing at the event beginning October 1.

Twenty sculptors from Azerbaijan, Ukraine, New Zealand, Turkey, Iran, Tunisia, Jordan, Spain, Serbia, Great Britain, Russia and China joined the symposium to create various works at the event.

Shabani told local media about the symposium, “The main theme of my work at the event is the mosque’s mihrab ( prayer niche). I strived to present Iranian Islamic traditional architecture.”    

The other participant at the symposium also said to media that he attended a section for works made from waste material, adding his sculpture work from such material is a "peacock." 

Drawing to a close October 10, the event enjoys the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The first International symposium on sculpture was held in 2016, it was attended by fourteen sculptors from 10 countries.
